The open nomination period for Sealy ISD’s Gifted and Talented Program is here! Nominations for kindergarten students will be accepted during the month of November, and nominations for students in grades 1 through 11 will be accepted during November and December. SISD will accept nominations from parents, teachers, community members, SISD faculty/staff, and the students themselves.
The Sealy ISD Gifted and Talented Program serves students who are advanced intellectually and academically. Their giftedness may surface as an outstanding aptitude in one or more of the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies or in their ability to process information more rapidly. A gifted learner may exhibit the following characteristics: discusses in detail and elaborates, draws inferences, enjoys learning, is highly curious, thrives on complexity, manipulates information, is keenly observant, initiates projects, has wild and silly ideas, prefers adult company; and plays around in class, yet tests well.
If you’re interested in nominating a student, please contact the following GT coordinators:
Selman Elementary – Susan Stritz – 885.6659
Selman Intermediate – Mary Kay Williams – 885.3852
Sealy Junior High – Sharon Taylor – 885.3292

If your child is currently in the Gifted and Talented Program, he/she does not need to go through the nomination process again.
